A Conservation Easement is a complex legal document with a very carefully designed format. NALT’s outside counsel initiates the drafting using NALT’s standard form that has been used in over 480 easements and is continually updated to reflect the latest interpretation of law. We will also provide revisions of the easement based on your and your attorney’s consolidated feedback. The Conservation Easement typically includes a certified survey of the Property and a metes and bounds legal description for the Conservation Easement Area. Completion of the Conservation Easement requires the coordination of your attorney, surveyor, title company, and your tax advisor (plus lender, if applicable). Please remember that NALT does not provide legal or tax advice and you will rely on your own advisors.
